Here. We. Go.
Today is a pretty big day here at Backcountry Champions Creative Studio: we are expecting the arrival of the first 125 copies of More Than Hope: Lessons from the Colorado Trail. The collection marks our first major publication, and it’s a bit scary to say the least. A group of ten other authors and I have been working on the book for months, and I would really like the release to go well. So well, in fact, that we decided to push back the official launch to early September to make sure everything is absolutely buttoned up, this website included.
As a hiker and an writer, I often find myself struggling to find middle ground between those things that are perfect and those that are good enough. This entire project is an exercise in breaking free from perfectionism, and it’s a lot tougher to do when I have other people’s work in my hands. The book won’t be perfect, though, so no spoilers there (there’s a typo on the cover, in fact), but I am hopeful that it will be good enough to build from in the future. Stay tuned. We have big things on the horizon.
